Phosphorescent pigments (glow pigments), also known as Luminescent and Photoluminescent pigments, have ten times brightness and glow time than those of traditional zinc sulfide phosphors. Due to their characteristics, these pigments are suitable for many different technical and artistic applications, and can be used in manufacturing paints, inks, plastics, films, rubber, and others. They are completely safe for use in consumer products such as clothing, shoes, stationery, novelties, sporting goods, and the like. Our LCG (low-temperature) Ceramic Glazes can be used for colorful drawings directly on glaze or under glazes, or on bare ceramic body. Their body colors are from Yellow-green to White, the glowing colors are Blue-green, Sky-blue and Yellow-green after absorbing light.
Photoluminescent ceramic glaze for dry method screen printing is made of photoluminescent pigments and ceramic glaze and other additives. This glaze is suitable for firing flat ceramics, such as “Floor Ceramic Tiles”, putting 200 – 400 um glazes on the white ceramic embryo by 60 mesh screen printing. The firing temperature is 1050 – 1950 degree centigrade. There are three luminous colors of the glazes: yellow-green; blue-green; sky-blue, their daytime color is light white. Their particle size is 80 mesh. The firing time is same as the ceramic embryo.
Application of Photoluminescent Ceramic Glazes
Luminous ceramic glaze formula: luminous ceramic glaze is mainly composed of three parts: basic glaze frit, luminous powder and additives. The content of noctilucent powder in the basic glaze is about 20~30%. Too little noctilucent powder, the luminous effect will not be good. Too much luminous powder will increase the melting temperature, the glaze is not smooth, and the glaze layer can easily separate from the body. Because the density of noctilucent powder is much higher than that of basic frit glaze, the luminescent powder is easy to precipitate when preparing glaze slurry. The main purpose of using additives is to increase the suspension of ceramic luminescent glaze slurry, so that the glaze slurry is uniform and not stratified, which is convenient for construction and operation. Additives generally include CMC, kaolin, sodium silicate and other substances.
Made of luminescent ceramic glaze: according to the formula composition of all kinds of raw materials, the ball mill fully mixing, puts the mixed material of frit furnace, melted under 1250-1300 degrees centigrade, water quenching, drying, ball mill, sieving (250 mesh), then the sifted fritted glaze powder and the basis of a certain amount of luminous powder and a small amount of additives in ball mill (ball: Material: water = 1: (1.6~2) : (0.6~0.7), ensure that the fineness of glaze slurry reaches 10,000 hole sieve margin < 0.05%.
There are 5 kinds of luminous ceramic glaze into luminous ceramic:
1. luminous ceramic glaze and printing oil according to the ratio of 1 :(0.5~0.6) mixing evenly, with 100~120 mesh screen printing on the unburned glaze, drying and then using rapid firing process in the roller kiln firing time between 40~90min;
2. luminous ceramic glaze and printing oil according to the ratio of 1:0.4, mixing evenly into thick, with 40~60 mesh screen printing on the glazed brick, thoroughly dry and then overprint ceramic pigment, finally with 30~40 mesh screen printing pile glaze dry powder, and then using rapid firing process in the roller kiln, firing time between 40~90min;
3. luminous ceramic glaze and water mixed evenly, evenly sprayed on the white glazed brick or plain blank, and then apply a layer of transparent glaze, drying and then using rapid firing process in the roller kiln, firing time between 40~90min, that is, the whole luminous products;
4. mix the luminous ceramic glaze with printing oil or water, draw it on the surface of the product by hand, dry it thoroughly, and then burn it in the roller kiln with rapid firing process. The firing time is between 40 and 90min.
5. make luminous ceramic paper with luminous ceramic glaze, and produce luminous ceramic products by transferring the paper
The suitable temperature of every luminous ceramic glaze color in the second firing for finished product (interior wall tiles or ceramic crafts): 1) yellow-green color glaze: 600 degree centigrade; 2) blue-green color glaze: 1000 degree centigrade; 3) sky blue color glaze: 800 degree centigrade.

b. Firing temperature range: 600-1000°C
c. Dilation coefficient: 6.0-10.0x 10ˉ/°C
d. Afterglow time: above 12 hours
Infrared (IR) pigments are inorganic pigments, with white body color, and they glow under infrared light (wavelength: 940 – 1060nm). The emit green; red; and blue colors. And they will not emit glow without being exposed to infrared lights. They are mostly used in the anti-counterfeiting techniques and could be used repeatedly over long term.
They could be divided into different applications: cosmetics, ektonexine, plastics, surface lining, textiles. Application proportions are: 3 – 5% for water ink; 5 – 10% for oil ink; 0.5 – 5% for plastics.
IR pigments are heat resistant to 1200℃. Their average size is 2 – 20um. The emitting rate is around 90% under 30℃ – 40℃ temperature.
“Pearl Luster” pigments are special type of pigments typically used in the manufacturing of cosmetics, coatings, inks, plastics, and various other products to impart them with a distinctive pearlescent effect. Here’s detailed explanation:

Under Ultraviolet or Sunlight the color changes from white color or very light color to RED, YELLOW, BLUE, PURPLE, SKYBLUE, GREEN, ORANGE color. Away Ultraviolet or Sunlight pigments revert back to its white or very light color. This process can be repeated again and again.

These special effect pigments allow for a visual response to changes under temperature. The pigments are composed of microcapsules that change color reversibly. When the temperature is raised to a specified temperature the pigment goes from colored to colorless. The color returns to original color as the pigment is cooled down. The particle size of the thermochromic pigments, for all models and colors, is <6 microns (97%). The color and temperature are selected by the user. Thermochromic products are available in a wide variety of forms, including powder, slurry, water-based ink, epoxy, master batch and so on.
